Mathematics Education
A vital part of the mission of the Department of Mathematical
Sciences is in the realm of mathematics education. The Department of
Mathematical Sciences at MTSU strives to prepare pre-service
teachers to become successful mathematics teachers at the
elementary, middle, and secondary school levels;
offer professional development to inservice teachers of mathematics
via masters programs and a variety of institutes led by departmental
faculty; add to the body of research on mathematics teaching and
learning at all levels.
