Graduate Program
Computational mathematics is a fundamental component of applied research in an industrial setting. As a graduate student in the Industrial Mathematics Program of the MTSU Department of Mathematical Sciences, you will build a foundation in numerical analysis and differential equations. Upon this foundation, you will develop skills with techniques in areas such as optimization, control theory, computational geometry, and computer aided design. You will learn the necessary skills to apply mathematics to a wide range of industrial problems.

Our Master of Science degree program offers flexibility:

  • An optional cooperative component involving participating faculty and private enterprise.

  • A thesis option.

  • The option of pursuing a project.

The faculty in the program have worked in government laboratories and private industry, and maintain ongoing professional relationships with companies such as GE, Boeing, and GM.

We offer graduate assistantships, up-to-date computer facilities, and a pleasant atmosphere for study. Join us!
